About this episode
Dr Georgia Moloney discusses her research on using detection dogs to identify trafficked wildlife in shipping containers.
Detection dogs can help detect trafficked wildlife in shipping containers, a new study from Adelaide University has found. Dr Georgia Moloney and her team partnered with shipping company CMA CGM to design a new approach to screening shipping containers for trafficked wildlife. Using an air sampling device attached to the shipping container vents, their specially trained detection dog Stan was able to detect hidden wildlife items like pelts with 98% accuracy. Ash sits down with Dr Moloney to talk about her work. Support the show: https://buymeacoffee.com/tunefm See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
