Rick Noguchi discusses the impact of federal funding cuts on California Humanities and local programs.
Rick Noguchi, CEO of California Humanities, joins this week’s edition of Newsmakers TV to discuss the impact of the Trump Administration’s massive DOGE cuts, which slashed crucial federal funding that his non-profit organization has counted on for half-a-century to make grants for programs around the state, including money in Santa Barbara for the Trust for Historical Preservation, the Historical Museum, the Public Library and the International Film Festival, among others. In emergency preservation mode, the group’s board is meeting here this week to strategize about how to keep their programming alive.
