About this episode

The episode discusses the departure of Matt Crocker from US Soccer and the implications for the Sporting Director position, along with updates from Major League Soccer and the English Premier League.

Will US Soccer EVER hire the right Sporting Director? On Unfiltered Soccer with Landon Donovan and Tim Howard, our hosts dive into Matt Crocker’s tenure in the position, the announcement last week that he’s departing for Saudi Arabia, and what US Soccer needs when filling this vital position. In Major League Soccer news, Lionel Messi’s old friend Javier Mascherano is out of a job at Inter Miami, but that didn’t stop the herons from setting the second-highest attendance record in Colorado last weekend. And across the pond in the English Premier League, the Merseyside Derby turned red, the title race could be turning blue, and Spurs could be facing Lincoln City next season. In the AT&T Mailbag, the guys take your questions about Matt Crocker’s replacement and why the women’s side of soccer development has been on a more positive trajectory than the men’s side.
