Jesus, the Word of God “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” (John 1:1, 14) The message of Jesus is our freedom. It is the essence of our faith, the power of our confession, the security of our future, the hope of our calling, the key to our deliverance, the pathway to salvation, and the promise of eternity. In this powerful teaching that bridges Easter and Pentecost, we discover the stunning truth that Jesus has finished His work on the cross and is now seated at the right hand of the Father as our Advocate. The Holy Spirit is actively revealing all that Jesus accomplished, just as He carried out the Father’s Word at creation: “Let there be light.” Through the miracle of feeding the 5,000 and Jesus walking on the stormy Sea of Galilee, we see Jesus as the Bread of Life who fulfills the law and brings completion where striving could never succeed.
