About this episode

The episode discusses the rankings of the six remaining AFL finals teams and the implications for teams exiting the finals race.

The second week of the 2026 AFL Finals series saw the race for this year’s premiership rocked, as Sydney and Hawthorn collected unexpected wins to book preliminary finals spots. On this week’s episode of The Hitout, the team rank the six remaining clubs on who has the best chance of winning the flag. Exiting the finals race, the boys look at what comes next for Carlton and the Western Bulldogs, and whether Luke Beveridge could be facing a nervous off-season. Plus, the winner of the Teams Draft, an update on the Finals Fiver, and the coaches that could land the North Melbourne job after Alastair Clarkson’s shock sacking. The Hitout AFL Podcast is Zero Hanger’s weekly show covering all of the latest AFL news, views and footy fun, featuring host Phoenix Trinidad and presenters Mitch Keating and Aidan Cellini. ⬇️ RUNDOWN: 00:00 Intro + Vibe-check 01:03 Hawthorn def.
