Scott Felt shares his journey from the SoCal BMX scene to dominating the 50+ racing classes.

In this episode, Brian Randolph (BioLab TM) and I sit down with Scott Felt to talk about his BMX journey, from growing up in the SoCal scene to becoming one of the fastest riders in the 50+ classes today. Scott grew up in La Verne / San Dimas, in the middle of a strong Southern California BMX scene, riding tracks like Azusa, Monrovia, and Honda Hills alongside riders such as Matt Haden, Harry Leary, and Tinker Juarez. He shares stories about racing with Geoff Schofield and “Chicken” George Seevers and riding for S&K Bicycles and later White Bear through the early 90s before stepping away from racing around 1993. Although he left competition, he never fully left riding, staying connected to BMX and riding with his friend Derek Garcia while focusing on work and family life. In 2013, after more than 20 years off, Scott returned to racing at the Reno National, later racing Ventura and reconnecting with Greg Hill, who helped train both his son and, eventually, Scott himself. He competed through 2017 before taking another break to ride mountain bikes and support his son’s football.
