He left the US around 2018, lived briefly in Canada, then moved to Salvador, Bahia, Brazil in early 2019. He spent ~7.5 years there, learned Portuguese, and embraced the beach lifestyle in Salvador Bay. In older posts he encouraged young men to move to Brazil for a better life. However, he has been candid about the downsides, highlighting safety, theft, and crime issues—such as not being able to leave things outside and comparing rural Alabama favorably to Salvador. He has advised against long-term stays in places like Rio due to violent crime and scams. In June 2026 he returned to the US, noting he was happy to be home while clarifying he hadn’t “officially moved back” yet; around the same time he described himself as an American traveling in Brazil.
