About this episode

John Prinz shares his journey of replacing a high dosage of Oxycontin with a cannabis-based regimen after a severe workplace injury.

A devastating workplace injury in 1992 led to multiple spinal surgeries, hardware implantation, and ongoing degenerative disc issues for John Prinz of California. At one point, he was prescribed over 1,100 milligrams of Oxycontin daily, along with a range of other medications, and faced further invasive interventions including a spinal cord stimulator trial and a possible morphine pump. Instead, he made a different choice. Over a two-year transition, he gradually moved off opioids and into a cannabis-based regimen that he has maintained ever since.
