In 1985, William Angolia’s life changed in an instant after a devastating construction site accident left him with blunt force trauma to the head, permanent blindness in his right eye, and relentless migraine headaches caused by pressure inside the damaged eye. Once a successful construction engineer, William became bedridden, unable to work, and dependent on prescription medications that offered little relief. After years of suffering, a chance encounter in a doctor’s waiting room introduced him to the idea of using cannabis medicinally — something his doctors strongly discouraged at the time. What happened next would transform his life forever.

While vacationing in Thailand in 2023, Connor McCrossan from the UK began feeling ill and it got worse day by day. He eventually flew back home, spent 11 days in hospital and finally got an MRI scan which showed he had a Medulloblastoma — an aggressive form of brain cancer. He underwent a 9 hour operation followed by targeted proton beam therapy. He refused chemotherapy after his mother, Tammy, researched cannabis oil. Since that time he has had 6 clear scans with no evidence of disease.

When he was diagnosed with brain cancer in October of 2022, doctors told 31 year old Nathan Duarte of British Columbia, Canada that his cancer was incurable, extremely aggressive and had a 100% recurrence rate. Then they told him he only had a year to 18 months to live. An operation removed 60% of his tumor and he underwent some chemo and radiation but he feels it was cannabis that resulted in his cancer free diagnosis a year later. His oncologist said he had never seen anything like it.

After five trips to rehab, Mary Ellen Lorello from New Jersey finally broke free from opiate addiction—not through more pharmaceuticals, but by restoring balance to her endocannabinoid system. A 40-year cannabis consumer, cancer survivor, and educator, Mary Ellen shares how cannabis helped her heal, avoid relapse during 5 surgeries over the past 12 years, and reclaim her health.

After losing her father, Sasha Carr of Tennessee found herself stuck in a place of deep grief. She wasn’t suicidal, but she also wasn’t fully living.
