About this episode

The episode covers recent political resignations, Elon Musk's financial milestones, health initiatives, and the chaotic start of the World Cup.

Yesterday was a difficult day for the Prime Minister as some of his strongest allies in the cabinet left the government. Defence Secretary John Healey was the first to announce his resignation, citing disagreements over the funds set aside for the long-delayed defence investment plan. A few hours later, Al Carns, the armed forced minister, stood down too. President Donald Trump has said he called off another round of strikes on Iran as he claimed a deal has been agreed, which has been denied by the Iranian regime. Tech tycoon Elon Musk is on course to become the world’s first trillionaire,as his company SpaceX has raised $75 billion in a record-breaking initial public offering which values it at $1.77 trillion. A Meningitis B jab is set to be offered to one million young people, following a series of outbreaks of the disease. And finally, the World Cup kicked off last night with a chaotic opening match- Mexico defeated South Africa 2-0, in the first opening game in history to see three red cards. Leah and Gareth have the day's news in just 10 minutes.
