This episode features a discussion with Rae from Rae’s Reptiles about reptile education shows and the experiences involved in presenting reptiles to the public.
Episode #144 of Daffy's Round Tables! On this episode I'm joined by Rae from Rae’s Reptiles, and in this episode we talk all about doing reptile education shows. We get into what it’s like bringing reptiles into schools, birthday parties, and live events, what makes a good education animal, and how to create a show that’s fun, memorable, and actually teaches people something. We also talk about how to present reptiles in a way that helps people connect with them instead of being afraid of them, and of course we talk about what goes into building a business around reptile education, and the importance of doing outreach and social media. Rae gives us some good social media strategies too. We also talk about Rae's experiences in zoos. She has worked in several zoos here in Canada and has a lot of awesome stories to share. One of those zoos is Little Ray's Nature Centre that was in Hamilton btw. Shout out Little Ray's!!! If you’ve ever thought about doing educational shows yourself, or you just want to hear what it’s like behind the scenes, there’s a lot of great stuff in this episode. Huge thank you to Exo Terra for sponsoring this podcast and making this episode possible. Exo Terra…
