Gerry Davis was a key creative force behind Doctor Who in the mid-1960s, helping ensure that the series would continue onwards. He served as story editor from 1966 to 1967. In that role, he helped steer the show toward a stronger science-fiction focus, emphasizing futuristic concepts and is best known for co-creating the Cybermen alongside Kit Pedler. He also wrote several serials, some of which helped cement the Cybermen’s popularity, and contributed to developing the show’s format during a period of major transition. Gerry’s friend Anthony Clark joined Tim to discuss his own association with the show, and also provided a previously unbroadcast interview with Gerry, which you can now hear for the first time, in which he talks about The Highlanders and The Moonbase.
