Pastor Jamie Duncan discusses the story of Gideon, highlighting themes of obedience and transformation through faith in God.
Gideon was not a hero when God found him. He was a frightened man hiding in a winepress, trying to survive. Yet God greeted him as a mighty warrior, not because of who Gideon was, but because of what God intended to do through him. God reduced Gideon's army from 32,000 soldiers to just 300, facing 135,000 enemies, so that the victory could only be credited to Him. When Gideon obeyed, God delivered an impossible win without Gideon's men ever having to raise a sword. The greater miracle, though, was not the battle itself. It was the transformation of a coward into a man of faith. God does not call the equipped. He equips the called. The question is whether you are willing to step out of your winepress.
