Maranatha! 1 Cor 16:22 Early Christians greeted one another with this single word prayer – one of praise and promise! Our Lord has come! O Lord Come! Both were included in the exciting word. Sunday we begin our journey through the book that God has said: “Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy” (Rev 1:3). I want you to have that blessing – we will read all the verses and listen to God’s Word. Sunday is a key message as the outline for the entire book is given – twice! Once in verse 8 about Jesus and then again in verse 19 as John is given instructions about what to write. There are a few key concepts that will run throughout the book: hope – endurance – humility – promise. These will be found in the extraordinary apocalyptic language used by God to impress on the hears that these are not merely world events – these are divine. When God does something there is no doubt who did it. Each week I will have a message for every hearer – for the new to the book the basics.
