And such were some of you! Paul describes but some of the sins by which we were once all identified, “but ye are washed”. What wonder to know that such has been washed away through the blood of Christ. “But ye are sanctified”, how it is that now we stand before God clothed in the righteousness of Christ. “But ye are justified”, even the thought that our sins are paid for in full fill us with wonder. “And such were some of you”. To think that we have come from such filth to now being spotless before the Lord, not for any good we have done but through the faith of Jesus Christ, we remain all the more in love with him for all he has done, for it is only by grace that we have been saved.
