Camilla desperately wants a new pet: a guinea pig, or better yet, a dog! Mum sets out her defence: dogs are a huge long-term commitment, cost a lot, and when Camilla goes to university, guess who'll be left scooping poop? (Hint: Not Camilla!) Meanwhile, sibling roommates Emily and William are at war over early mornings. Emily’s beauty sleep is regularly shattered by William, who’s wide awake after a doggy face-lick alarm clock. William blames the dog, Emily wants to join morning video games but not at 4 or 5am – and mum has resorted to earplugs!
