Griffin Canning answered the call, allowing just one run over five innings while striking out six and earning his FIRST win as a member of the Padres. The biggest moment of the night belonged to Freddy Fermin. Entering the game stuck in an 0-for-30 slump and still searching for his first home run of the season, Fermin delivered the swing of the game with a seventh-inning two-run blast that turned a 2-1 deficit into a 3-2 Padres lead.
