About this episode

The episode discusses the importance of bringing honest complaints to God during times of discouragement.

Based on my last post, Lament to Fight Discouragement (https://pheaney.substack.com/p/lament-to-fight-discouragement), Chuck Wood II and I talk about the importance of having honest conversations with God when you are discouraged. Quotes: While it's awesome to launch someone, there's also some grief that comes with that. Those have to go hand in hand. They're actually going to be right there at the same time. So we want to be aware of it, and ready for it. She didn't say, “God, you're not fair.” She said, “God, I know you're fair, but right now it doesn't feel like it.” So that's the difference. The first one is you're shaking your fist at God. The second one is going: “I'm going to trust what the word says about you, but I'm also not feeling it, Lord.” So you're just bringing that raw emotion to him.
