The owner, Mike Freed, says a love of the land and the people of Big Sur informed every decision he made in creating the hotel. This hotel is beautiful inside and out. It started with the local community’s involvement. A native architect focused on natural building methods helped shape it. What Makes Post Ranch Inn So Sustainable In 2009, they installed a 945-panel solar system. The EPA estimates this installation prevents about 600,000 pounds of carbon emissions annually.
