His name is Qorl, a TIE pilot shot down onto the fourth moon of Yavin during the battle that destroyed the first Death Star. His squadron is torn apart, his ship goes down, his arm is broken, and the last order he ever receives is to land and wait for rescue. So he waits. For over twenty years. Alone in the jungle, one arm useless, he carves a shelter from a burned-out Massassi tree, rigs plumbing from reeds, builds tools from wood and gourds, and survives, still telling himself he's a soldier on active duty waiting for an Empire...that no longer exists.Then Han and Leia's twins, Jacen and Jaina Solo, stumble onto his crashed TIE fighter while training at Luke Skywalker's academy, and Qorl takes them prisoner to force them to repair it. His plan after two decades is to fly home and return as a war hero to a government that's been gone since before these kids were born.
