Karl Urban explains that fans who talk about shows and movies that didn't go the way they wanted shouldn't be called toxic (if they are just speaking normally), but rather should be seen as passionate fans who CARE about the media being created. I think this is such an important topic in today's era since everything is so politically charged to the point that you HAVE to like or dislike something in order to tow in line with the machine. It's really simple. If you like or dislike something primarily based on the story, character development and continuity with lore, it means you're a passionate nerd and the executives at Disney, Lucasfilm, Marvel, or any studio, should take what you say to heart and think deeper about it rather than discarding you as a toxic fan if you're just expressing your thoughts normally. In my day, it was more of an argument about if you understood Star Wars or not...Unlike today where your entire personality and quality as a human is decided whether you liked the Acolyte or not. Acolyte star Manny Jacinto says that the people who didn't like the show are just keyboard warriors and the loudest ones online. I didn't like the show. I thought it was an absolute mockery of Star Wars, and so did many others. I provide detailed reasons as to why this show was objectively bad in the Star Wars mythos. I hope one day we can all get to a point where if you provide good reasonable points as to why you dislike a piece of media, then it ends there. The Mandalorian and Grogu was made to put a movie out that stands alone and isn't tied to anything else in the overall story. That was the intention. I think it's fine, however to be the first film in 7 years after how Mandalorian Season 2 took us to such great heights, then crashed them in Season 3, then gave us this film, seems a bit of a pointless Star Wars roller coaster ride to me. I was fine with Mandalorian and Grogu, but I am tired of them making stuff that's so surface level. It's time to get into the lore, stay consistent, and make something really moving like George Lucas - THAT MATTERS to the overall story. We've gotten enough inconsequential stories, time to get something actually meaningful after the poorly planned Star Wars Sequel trilogy.
