Learn how to JournalSpeak https://www.yourbreakawake.com/journalspeak Patti came to this work after years of living with trigeminal neuralgia, often called one of the most painful conditions a person can experience. She had tried everything she could find to make the pain stop—specialists, restrictive diets, supplements, holistic treatments, and an exhausting amount of vigilance around what might trigger the next attack. Then something shifted. Patti reached a place of radical acceptance and, almost immediately afterward, stumbled across the story of someone who had recovered using my work. What began as an attempt to get rid of excruciating facial pain became an entirely different journey into JournalSpeak, childhood trauma, people-pleasing, fear, and the ways her nervous system had been trying to protect her for decades. This conversation goes far beyond a traditional recovery story. Patti and I talk about why rushing to heal can actually communicate more danger to the nervous system, why pain can unconsciously create permission to receive care when you’ve spent your life being “the strong one,” and how self-sacrifice can masquerade as love…
