About this episode

Lawrence Poole discusses the complexities of managing systems influenced by diversity, connectivity, interdependence, and adaptation.

A complex system emerges from 4 inherent conditions – 1. Diversity, 2. Connectivity, 3. Interdependence and 4. Adaptation. Diversity tells us that the greater the number of opinions the greater the complexity. The closer diverse parts are also increases complexity. So does whether the parts are free to respond how they want, and how do they adapt will increase the complexity of the result. In this presentation, Lawrence explains how we prosper by adjusting to the 9 principles of self-management.
