Cornelia shares her experiences of fast births under the super full moon and the importance of trust in the birthing process.

Today on The Natural Birth Podcast we have Cornelia. Cornelia is a mother of two from Sweden and a midwife, having attended around 50 home births and nearly 400 hospital births. She’s the daughter of my friend and home birth midwife Kirsten who’s a guest teacher for the Swedish midwifery craft training I am starting this summer here in Sweden and it’s such a pleasure to have her on. Her mother being the home birth midwife of the village all her life, her connection to birth began early. At just 8 years old, she witnessed her first birth, and since then she has carried a deep knowing that birth is a natural process of life. For her own births, she chose to have her mother as her midwife. A decision rooted not only in trust of her competence, but in the deep safety of their relationship, something she believes is essential in birth. Her first birth began under a super full moon, starting with gentle, menstrual-like sensations that quickly intensified through the night.
