About this episode

Mark Minkus discusses the importance of leading effectively during the final weeks of the school year and shares three keys to ensure a strong finish.

You have probably heard the quote that “a school year is a marathon, not a sprint.” That being said, the weeks between now and the last day of school sure feel like a sprint. Not only that, when you get close to the finish line it feels like it just keeps moving farther and farther away.   You are about to start “The 100 Days of May” (one of my coaching clients told me that they call it “Maycember” at her school) and the packed calendar that goes along with it. Over the next 6 weeks, you and your teachers will probably work harder (and later) than at any other point during the school year. How you lead the last 6 weeks of the school year matters more than you think. This stretch will determine: How your teachers feel heading into summer How your families feel about how the school year went (recency bias) How you feel physically and emotionally on the last day of school So, on today’s episode of The Private School Leader Podcast, I am going to teach you The 3 Keys To Having A Strong Finish To This School Year . Thank you for taking me along with you when you are walking the dog, driving to school or running errands. I appreciate you and what you are doing for the lucky kids…
