His career spans six decades — from pub-rock pioneer and bandleader to essential sideman of Graham Parker & the Rumour , to luthier and solo artist in later life. His legacy includes cultivating the pub rock movement and influencing British rock’s move toward direct, roots-based music. Brinsley Schwarz, the band created the infrastructure for UK punk & the working model of grassroots touring. Brinsley Schwarz, both the band and the individual helped shape British new wave songwriting With Nick Lowe and in our view laid the foundation for power pop from 1970's pub rock, punk and New Wave. Brinsley tells many stories on this episode and we sample some of the great music from the band and his solo career.
