Nicole Johnson reflects on aging, success, and the balance between gratitude and the desire for more in life.
Turning 46 has me reflecting. In this solo No One Asked But episode, I’m sharing some honest thoughts about getting older, looking back at the life I’ve built, and realizing that success doesn’t always look the way we thought it would. For a long time, I believed success meant climbing the corporate ladder, checking the boxes, and building a stable life. And while I’m incredibly grateful for the life I have — my family, my career, and the experiences along the way — I’ve also realized something important: You can be grateful for your life and still feel curious about what else might be possible. In this episode we talk about: Why wanting more from life doesn’t mean you’re ungrateful The difference between gratitude and settling Rethinking success in your 40s Why it’s never too late to reinvent yourself How curiosity can lead you into your next chapter I also share a few reflection questions that might help you think about what your next era could look like. Because the truth is — the life you’ve built might not be wrong… it just might not be the whole story.
