Munich-based Ugandan/German rapper and singer Gündalein, aka Isabel Leila Gütlein, has steadily become one of the most distinctive new voices in the German music scene. Blending Hip-Hop, Trap and soulful singing, she takes inspiration from legends like Lauryn Hill, Amy Winehouse, Erykah Badu and Missy Elliott while crafting a sound that is uniquely her own. Her music fuses old-school influences with modern beats, creating unforgettable performances and songs that champion empowerment and authenticity. Drawn to artistic expression from an early age, Gündalein began writing lyrics and freestyling in 2015 before stepping into the spotlight at her first cypher in Munich in 2019. Her collaboration with producer and sound engineer Momo Novos led to her debut single “I’m Crazy” (2020), and she quickly gained recognition with socially conscious tracks such as “Black Lives Matter”, performed live in 2021.
