Let’s talk about something that many of us have experienced, but very few of us accepted well or maybe even truly understood. That moment when your supervisor says hey, can you step into the office for a minute? Your heart rate picks up. Your mind starts racing. And before you even sit down, you’re already on the defensive. You’re thinking, what did I do wrong? Why am I getting singled out? This isn’t fair. And just like that, before the conversation even begins, the opportunity for any growth or understanding is already slipping away. I think that’s the human nature in us. I’m Marty with Warehouse and Operations as a Career and today I’d like to pause and reshape that entire moment. Because what many call a write-up, corrective action, or warning, I want us to recognize it as something different. I call it coaching. But it has to be presented and accepted as coaching too.
