CLARILOOPS - THE QUIET BELOW Clariloops is the alias of Ruby (Ester Mae) Lulham , a classically trained clarinetist from Melbourne who merges her clarinet with immersive ambient music to create 'anbient works that fuse wood and wire, breath and signal'. The Quiet Below was recorded at home wile pregnant with her second child. "I improvised most of the pieces, allowing them to unfold naturally." The music on all the (eight) tracks is extremely gentle and peaceful, 'reflecting the slowness, tenderness and quiet love of early parenthood; an exploration of stillness presence and impermanence'. The soft sound of the clarinet perfectly fits in the bedding Lulham creates for it with her effect pedals and synth: the result is 'a gentle, contemplative space where melodic loops and subtle rhythms carry warmth and intimacy. The Quiet Below is released in the eRecords series by Whitelabrecs , which means there is no physical edition. The digital download comes with a PDF scrapbook including polaroids and liner notes.
