The reality of most farmers is quite the opposite, with many relying on bailouts or folding their farm altogether. Additionally, the lack of overall support continues to be shown in the form of the price of oil going sky high and the USDA halting grant applications for the Renewable Energy Program. Next up, there is a public awareness campaign for labeling standards to increase consumer understanding of what is being grown and what they are purchasing, where it’s been grown, and what kind of chemicals or genetically modified practices have been put in place. Another understanding of which consumers need to be aware is in regards to lab-grown meat. There was a federal court ruling upholding Florida’s ban on lab-grown meat.
