The episode opens with a deranged fake Kroger pear sale ad, complete with jam jars, pear bowls, pear pie, and poor Doug getting publicly blamed for ordering a truly irresponsible amount of fruit. Tim also mourns the fact that he missed Big Boy , the giant steam locomotive currently making train autistics across the country spiritually levitate. A train fan’s emotional meltdown over seeing Big Boy becomes the jumping-off point for a full conversation about why trains continue to short-circuit the autistic brain in the most wholesome way possible. Big Boy apparently rolled through Ashtabula doing weird reverse maneuvers, which somehow makes Tim feel like he missed a once-in-a-lifetime rail-based miracle.
