Iron Builds Iron: A Journey of Growth and Mentorship! “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17 In the heart of the early church, we find the inspiring story of Priscilla and Aquila, who recognized the potential in Apollos. This eloquent man was fervent in spirit yet lacked the fullness of the truth. Instead of criticism, Priscilla and Aquila stepped forward with grace, mentoring him in the ways of God (Acts 18:24-28). Their actions remind us that true correction comes from a place of love, as stated in Proverbs 27:17: “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” When we embrace feedback and encouragement, our spirits awaken, and our faith deepens. Ephesians 4:15-16 teaches us the power of speaking the truth in love, enabling the growth of the body of Christ as each part does its work. Just like Apollos, we must remain open to guidance. We grow not in isolation but in connection with others striving toward a common goal.
