About this episode
Aisling Burke shares her journey of quitting alcohol and the positive changes it has brought to her life.
Mayo woman Aisling Burke @aislingalcoholfree joins me from Manchester for a really lovely, honest chat about why she decided she was done with drink and why this time it wasn’t a I’ll try situation. Seven months alcohol-free, Aisling talks blackouts mid-conversation, midweek hangovers that stole days and that feeling of always rushing life at 100 miles an hour. We get into what changed when she finally said it out loud, how sobriety gave her time back, better emotional regulation and a huge return of confidence, creativity and self-trust. Plus: staying in pubs, matches and weddings and actually enjoying them more. Aisling has gained more than could ever have imagined in these last 7 months and poetry is back at the top of her hobby list again. Enjoy!
