पेड़ । ओमप्रकाश वाल्मीकि पेड़ तुम पेड़ उसी वक़्त तक पेड़ हो, जब तक ये हरे पत्ते हिल रहे हैं तुम्हारी टहनियों पर। पेड़, तुम्हारा हरापन उसी वक़्त तक है जब तक ये पत्ते सही सलामत हैं तुम्हारी टहनियों पर। पेड़, तुम उसी वक़्त तक पेड़ हो, जब तक ये पत्ते तुम्हारे साथ हैं। पत्ते झरते ही पेड़ नहीं ठूँठ कहलाओगे जीते जी मर जाओगे!
