About this episode

Miriam Lancewood shares her experiences of living off the grid and the importance of survival skills.

Miriam Lancewood is a truly fascinating woman. Born in a small dutch village, she competed at a high level in pole vaulting when she was young. But in 2010 Miriam and her husband Peter gave up all their worldly posessions to move in to the wild and learn how to survive completely on their own.  In the episode we chat about why she believes everyone should have some basic survival skills, going nearly 10 days without food in Kahurangi National Park, and the terrifying experience of Peter having a heart attack in their extremely remote Bulgarian hut.  I'd love to hear how you feel about this episode, and the podcast as a whole.
