Brigid Tebaldi discusses the disconnect between knowing one's worth and the tendency to overwork and under-earn, particularly among women.
"I know that. I don't feel it." That's what came out of my mouth, out loud, in front of strangers, in the middle of a small group at a leadership conference last week. I wasn't expecting to say it, but I haven't stopped thinking about it since, because it's the exact same gap I see in almost every woman I work with. You know you're worth more. You still type the lower the price. You know rest isn't a moral failure but still can't make yourself stop at 9pm. In this episode I'm unpacking why knowing something in your head doesn't change what your body is still doing, and why overworking, underearning, and hiding aren't mindset problems at all.
