About this episode

The episode shares a personal story connected to a memorable concert experience and the significance of a song by Dave Lee Roth.

W/C 16th February 2026 I am bringing you a bit of a story this time, so here isn't much I can really say about it in advance...I need to just let it all unfold, so to speak. What I can say is that the track that gives the episode its title is by Dave Lee Roth, and is from an album called A Little Ain't Enough released in 1991. It is memorable for me because I went to see DLR on that tour, and it remains the only live experience I have of him or any link to Van Halen. It is also memorable because I bough a t-shirt that had 'Pure F*ckin Rock' emblazoned on the front (just without the censorship) which I wore with the cocky swagger of a 20 year old, thinking I was the first. Which is more than a little amusing, in the context of today's tale. Stay safe. Sensible Shoes - Dave Lee Roth Therapy For Me (or TFM as I now refer to it) is a bit of an audio curiosity. It started out as a mechanism for me to clear my head, with the hope that by saying stuff out loud it would act as a little bit of self-help. It's remains loose in style, fluid in terms of content and raw - it's a one take, press record and see what happens, affair. If you want to keep in touch with TFM and the other stuff I do…
