About this episode

This episode explores the concept of dying to self and how it leads to everlasting peace and clarity by disengaging from the mind.

When we die to self, we no longer experience ourself as a separate and individual being. We experience evelasting peace. One of the reasons the peace is everlasting is there is no time. When we die to thinking of ourself as being separate, we disengage from the mind. It's the mind that creates time and the differenciated world. How does this help us get through the day? It gives us perspective to see things more clearly and thereby make better choices. It also give us a perspective to retreat to where suffering does not exist because the mind is disengaged. After a "time out" we can re engage with the world with renewed energy and clarity. This undifferentiated state is also described as "being present", "being in the flow", "being in the zone". In every case the mind has been disengaged. Ask yourself or anyone else if. they were thinking when they were in flow. It's spontaneous expression of BEING. There is no "self consciousness" because there is no individual self. The individual self is a construct of the mind. When the mind is not engaged (conscious and subconscious mind both) there is no creation. When we're in the state of being, we are already all that could ever exist…
