במסגרת סדרת ההרצאות 'חברו־ת"א' שנערכו במרכז למורשת היהדות ע"ש צימבליסטה, באוניברסיטת תל אביב, אנחנו מביאים את הרצאתה של ד"ר דרה ברנאט, ראשת היחידה ללימודי שפות, על עולמו של המשורר וולט ויטמן. ההרצאה באנגלית. The lecture focused on sections 1 and 52 of Walt Whitman’s famous long poem, “Song of Myself.” The poem first appeared in the 1855 edition of Whitman’s ubiquitous collection, Leaves of Grass, and was revised several times through the final edition in 1891–92. Known as the American father of free verse poetry, Whitman’s work features signature themes of democracy, nature, spirituality, and the body.
