कश्चन युवकः पत्न्या सह विपणिं गत्वा सर्वदा एकस्याः वृद्धातः एव फलानि क्रीणाति स्म । तस्याः निर्धनतां ज्ञात्वा साहाय्यार्थं धनं‌ दातुं तेन यदा उद्यतं तदा तया विनयेन तत् निराकृतम् । तस्मात् तेन युवकेन कश्चन उपायः कृतः । तेन यः उपायः कृतः तम् उपायं ज्ञात्वा वृद्धा अन्यम् उपायं करोति । युवकेन कः उपायः कृतः ? वृद्धया कृतः उपायः कः ? इति कुतूहलेन इमां कथां शृण्वन्तु । (“केन्द्रीयसंस्कृतविश्वविद्यालयस्य अष्टादशीयोजनान्तर्गततया एतासां कथानां ध्वनिप्रक्षेपणं क्रियते”) A young man, along with his wife, always bought fruits from an old woman in the market. Knowing her poverty, he once tried to give her money to help, but she politely refused. Therefore, the young man devised a certain method.
