About this episode

This episode reflects on the significance of sacred time in Islam and encourages awareness of its importance.

As we enter Dhul-Qa’dah, one of the sacred months, this episode is a gentle reminder that not all time is the same. Allah says: “Indeed, the number of months with Allah is twelve [lunar] months… of these, four are sacred. That is the correct religion, so do not wrong yourselves during them…” (Surah At-Tawbah 9:36) And the Prophet ﷺ said: “The year is twelve months, of which four are sacred: three consecutive months—Dhul-Qa’dah, Dhul-Hijjah, and Muharram—and Rajab…” (Bukhari & Muslim) A short reflection on becoming more aware of sacred time, and how even small actions can carry greater weight within it. Wa Allahu a‘lam.
