| 9/4/26 | NHL Rookie Trounaments Preview; Junior Team Spotlights; Matthew Mayich and More | This week's episode takes a look across the hockey world, but starts with its focus on the devastating news regarding Arizona State's Matthew Mayich. Chris and Cam share their thoughts on this ongoing situation, which is now reportedly under investigation by local police. We continue to think of Mayich's family, teammates and friends. Chris and Cam also touch on the upcoming NHL rookie tournaments, what to look for and what you should ultimately be reading into what does or doesn't happen at those camps. After that, the duo takes a look at the upcoming junior hockey season with some growing narratives to follow during the season including the exciting roster the Guelph Storm have put together, the remaking of the Québec Remparts under Simon Gagné, the excitement of the Regina Pats' dynamic duo Maddox Schultz and Liam Pue, the upcoming USHL Fall Classic and more! Plus stay tuned for our Called Up Challenge, Beyond Belief and You Have To Pick One segments! | 8/28/26 | Making Sense Of The Ever-Changing Junior And College Hockey Landscape | We're getting closer and closer to real hockey once again, but the 2026-27 hockey season is going to be unlike any other. This is the second year of CHL players being eligible to play college hockey and it has caused a dramatic shift in the way both junior and college will look. Chris and Cam get into it, in detail and offer a lot of opinions on the topic. Before that, however, the Called Up crew shares thoughts on the somber news regarding Arizona State's Matthew Mayich and extend thoughts to the 21-year-old who remains in the hospital after collapsing during off-ice training last week. We extend our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to Mayich and his family and friends during this difficult time. Chris and Cam also dive into some major college hockey recruiting news as Michigan landed two high-end prospects for the 2027 NHL Draft -- Dima Zhilkin and Shaeffer Gordon-Carroll. Then it's onto the biggest topic of the summer including the shifting demographics of college hockey, what it means for the junior ranks, why USA Hockey is growing concerned about the trends and where things go from here. Chris and Cam also talk about their own thoughts about player development and why the decisions of where to play are never all that simple. Then we get after it with our regular staples, The Called Up Challenge, Beyond Belief and You Have To Pick One. | 8/21/26 | Jumping Into The Zach Benson Debate; Early Favorite Prospects For 2027 NHL Draft And Much More | You know it's August when the hockey internet is ablaze with player debates. And Called Up was more than happy to jump into one of the most heated player evaluation discussions in recent memory. Before we get to that, though, Chris and Cam dish on their favorite players for the 2027 NHL Draft early on and the players that are intriguing for the upcoming draft season. Dima Zhilkin led the way in that discussion as the Called Up guys discuss one of the more exciting prospects for the class. After that, though, they had to dive into the discourse surrounding The Athletic's recent U23 player rankings from Corey Pronman. Chris and Cam talk about the fervor surrounding Zach Benson being ranked so low, Gabe Perreault not being ranked at all and Jacob Fowler being so low in the Habs pool rankings. Plus, don't miss our regular segments including the Called Up Challenge, Beyond Belief and a timely "You Have To Pick One." And don't forget to subscribe to FloHockey to watch top prospects all season long from leagues like the AHL, ECHL, OHL, QMJHL, USHL and so many more. Sign up here. Learn more about your ad choices. | 8/14/26 | 2027 NHL Draft Season Premiere: Why Landon DuPont Is No. 1, Why He Will Have Competition And Why We're Also Excited About 2028 | WE'RE BaaaAAAAaaack!!!! After a few weeks off, Season 3 of Called Up: The Prospects Podcast is here and we're getting you geared up for the 2027 NHL Draft season. It's the Landon DuPont draft and we break down why he's the No. 1 prospect coming into the season, why teams will scrutinize him more heavily and who could end up as his biggest competition. We're also talking about the other players you should know for 2027 including top Russian prospect Nazar Privalov, Milan Sundstrom, Jonah Neunschwander, Alexis Joseph and many more. We dig into why Joseph's stock has dipped coming into the season and why early hype can sometimes be a detriment. Plus we examine questions like Where are all the other defensemen for this draft after DuPont? Is this another alarmingly down year for the USA? And could Maddox Schultz and Liam Pue leapfrog the 2027-eligibles for some key spots at the World Juniors? Plus, you won't want to miss our regular segments including the Called Up Challenge, Beyond Belief and You Have To Pick One. It's good to be back! Let's enjoy another exciting NHL Draft season!
