Have you ever been so consumed by the wrong thing that you tried to hide from the right thing? That’s Jonah. He hated the Ninevites so much that he chose to try to run and hide from God’s presence and direction. It was a selfish move. It was a foolish move. Going in the opposite direction from God, Jonah is caught in the middle of a storm. It became clear that someone had to be sacrificed to save the sailors caught on the boat with Jonah.
