It’s where one of our grads sits down with a retired teacher to reminisce, reflect, and share stories. These chats are always full of great moments, even if we only have space for a short article in the magazine.In this episode, we’re sharing the unedited interview between Jonathan Geisler '80, and longtime Crescent staff member, Alan 'Doc' Atkinson, who worked at Crescent from 1975 - 1992. Doc was taught sciences and started the Crescent rugby program in spring of 1976. Kevin Abrams ’89 was inducted into the Crescent Wall of Honour in 2023, for his extraordinary career in the NFL - including two Super Bowl wins. Kevin has spent the past 27 years working with the New York Giants Football franchise. As the Senior VP of Football Operations & Strategy, Kevin is responsible for strategic planning related to football operations, data and innovation, managing the salary cap, negotiating player contracts, compliance with the NFL’s collective bargaining agreement and working closely with the college scouting department. Prior to his current role, Kevin was the Giants' assistant general manager for 20 years and was also the team's vice president of football operations for the previous four years.   After graduating from Crescent in 1989, Kevin completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Western Ontario and earned his master's degree in sports administration from Ohio University.In addition to his time with the Giants, Kevin teaches a Football Management class in Columbia University's graduate sports management program.This episode is hosted by Jason Steel ’93, and recorded and edited by Jonny Wei ’24. Dan Gladman ’91 is a freelance television producer, working with CP24, soccer broadcasts for MLS on Apple TV+, the Paris Olympics and Paralympics for the CBC, and is the senior producer for the Canadian Elite Basketball League on TSN. Daniel runs a production of NCAA basketball in the Maritimes and Alberta called Atlantic Slam and Western Slam on ESPN+. Daniel also teaches at the College of Sports Media.Prior to his freelance life, Daniel led the production of the Toronto Raptors game broadcasts nationwide for ten years. During which he became the only Canadian to have ever produced an Eastern Conference and NBA Finals basketball event. Dan Goldenberg ’98 is an entertainment lawyer and co-owner of the beloved Camp Manitou. Dan holds a B.A. from McGill University and a LLB from Osgoode Hall. Dan speaks about his experience at McGill and as a lawyer in Ontario and the UK, his client work for Hollywood actors and directors, his connection to summer camp, and his experience playing the “Coyote” at assemblies. Rob Watt ’85 P’14 is an engineer and managing principal and co-founder of The DMS Group, one of the largest full-service property management firms in Ontario. Rob holds engineering degrees from McGill University and Western University. Rob served as Chair of the Alumni Executive Committee and Board of Governor for Crescent School. He shares his experiences from hauling refuse in Muskoka to working at SNC-Lavalin and founding DMS, to raising a Crescent boy of his own. Evan Solomon ’87 is a columnist, journalist and radio host well known as a former host of the CBC’s Power and Politics, and CTV’s Power Play and Question Period. Evan holds bachelor and masters degrees from McGill University. Evan shares stories of starting out in journalism in Hong Kong, starting a technology magazine and rock band in the mid-90s, how to write effectively, and the time he was publicly shamed for writing a one-act play.
