About this episode

The episode explores the unsolved double murder of two women at a bakery in Kansas and the ongoing quest for justice.

The Unsolved Double Murder at the Dolly Madison Bakery. On September 4, 2002, in broad daylight at one of the busiest intersections in Great Bend, Kansas, two innocent women were brutally murdered inside a Dolly Madison Bakery outlet. Mandi Alexander, a 24-year-old single mother on just her third day at a new job, full of hope and fresh starts. Mary Drake, a 79-year-old beloved grandmother and lifelong resident, simply stopping by for a loaf of bread. A man walked in, committed unimaginable violence, took almost nothing, and calmly walked out—seen by a witness. Despite a detailed suspect description, a composite sketch, and a foreign male DNA profile developed in 2022, this shocking double homicide remains unsolved more than 23 years later. Was it a botched robbery? A random act of rage? Or something more targeted? Join me on Criminal Prints as we explore the lives lost, the evidence that could still break the case open, and why justice for Mandi and Mary is long overdue.
