When the World Ends, Can Love Begin? Akira wakes to a city of ruins and a civilization run by an organization called OWEL, where the institution of marriage has been replaced by something called “Elsie.” Confused and alone, he is confronted by Yuugure — an android who is the spitting image of Towasa, the girl he loved before he went under. Yuugure asks him to marry her. Rather than accepting this as fate or rejecting it outright, Akira walks with Yuugure across a broken world, chasing the faint hope that the real Towasa still survives and trying to understand what love means when memory, identity, and even biology can be rewritten. The show promises a slow-burning journey that places intimate human questions inside a wide, altered society.
