In 2022 the Tennessee state record for a blue catfish was broken by Micka Burkhart with a 118 pound monster from the Cumberland River. Micka Burkhart's record catfish is one of the largest catfish ever caught in America. A potential new Tennessee state record blue catfish has just been caught on the Cumberland River in Tennessee. Micka Burkhart is the angler who caught the giant catfish. Coincidentally, he hold the current Tennessee state record for a blue catfish. State record catfish are rare. Prior to last year the Tennessee record blue catfish stood for many years. It is always amazing when an angler breaks his own record.
