We are now witnessing an unprecedented disaster. This disaster is like a tsunami in that it has appeared very suddenly and has swept across all the nations of the world, creating indescribable chaos and suffering in its wake. However, this disaster is man-made. It stems from the sexual revolution, and it is creating billions of victims. This disaster is the sexual holocaust. It is the pervasive ideology of “anything-goes” sexuality. Sanford and Heap theorize that this ideology stems from the era of the 1960’s and 70’s during what was known as the sexual revolution. Most people are familiar with The Great Commission as written in the Bible in Matthew 26. But did you know there is another commission written earlier in the book? This first commission is very different from the Great Commission. So why is that? Today on Educate For Life, Kevin speaks with Dr. James Fazio. He is the Dean of Bible and Theology and Professor of Biblical Studies at Southern California Seminary. James Fazio has been in the field of education for most of his life. Beginning in the public sector, James taught as a para-educator for the San Diego Unified City School District, working with special education students at Alexander Graham Bell Middle School (1995-2000) and afterwards Junipero Serra High (2000-2005). In 2010 James entered private Christian higher education, teaching undergraduate courses in biblical studies. In the next year, James accepted the position as Dean of the College at SCS. Dr. James Fazio has an expertise in dispensationalism. Dispensationalism is a religious interpretive system and metanarrative for the Bible. It considers biblical history as divided by God into dispensations, defined periods or ages to which God has allotted distinctive administrative principles. Put simply, this means that God has interacted in different ways with people during different periods in history. Critical Race Theory, or CRT, is a theoretical and interpretive mode that examines the appearance of race and racism across dominant cultural modes of expression. In adopting this approach, CRT scholars attempt to understand how victims of systemic racism are affected by cultural perceptions of race and how they are able to represent themselves to counter prejudice. So how does Critical Race Theory work in the real world? How does it compare to a worldview like the Christian world view? Today on Educate For Life, Kevin has as his guest, Dr. Joe Miller. He has almost a decade of experience as a teacher and administrator in Christian higher education. He has a diverse educational background and 20+ years of pastoral experience. According to CRT, only the minority truly understands the nature of race and oppression. The systems in place are forms of oppression and must be overthrown because they are inherently racist. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, “While most abortion care is delivered in outpatient settings, in some cases care may be delivered in hospital-based settings or surgical facilities. To the extent that hospital systems or ambulatory surgical facilities are categorizing procedures that can be delayed during the COVID-19 pandemic, abortion should not be categorized as such a procedure. Abortion is an essential component of comprehensive health care. It is also a time-sensitive service for which a delay of several weeks, or in some cases days, may increase the risks or potentially make it completely inaccessible. The consequences of being unable to obtain an abortion profoundly impact a person’s life, health, and well-being.” In other words, abortion is necessary while other medical procedures are not. The son of a pregnancy resource center director, Seth Gruber was raised in the pro-life movement and has been speaking publicly on behalf of unborn children since the age of 19. He has spoken across the U.S. educating and equipping pro-life advocates to be a gracious and persuasive voice for unborn children. Seth travels and speaks in Protestant and Catholic high schools, churches, pro-life training seminars, and for pregnancy resource center banquets, engages in academic debate, and blogs and writes as cultural and political commentator. Seth is also the host of the podcast UnAborted! First gaining exposure during his college years, Seth founded and directed the Students for Life Club at Westmont College, a Christian liberal arts institution. While there, he conducted educational displays on campus to challenge the institution for their refusal to take a formal position on abortion. During the summer, Seth interned with a pro-life organization in Southern California, where he helped coordinate and conduct educational displays at over 10 universities and engaged with thousands of students on the topic of abortion. A common argument for the truth of the resurrection is that the apostles all died as martyrs and there’s no reason they would have died for a lie. But how well does this argument hold up? Soul, in religion and philosophy, the immaterial aspect or essence of a human being, that which confers individuality and humanity, often considered to be synonymous with the mind or the self.
