France discusses the importance of prayer using biblical examples and emphasizes the need for humility in approaching God.
France explains from Psalm 24 that Prayer is important, Using examples from Matthew 6, Jeremiah 33 and John 9. He also shows how mountains can be places of encounter, revelation and testing quoting Genesis 22 (Abraham), Exodus 20 (Moses), 1King 18 (Elijah) and Matt 17 (Jesus) but we cannot ascend the mountain of God on our own terms - see Isaiah 14. We must have clean hands, a pure heart, have not appealed to what is false and have not sworn deceitfully. This can only be done by God and we should be humble and thank Him during our prayers - In Luke 18 Jesus told the Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector.
